Everything can be reached easily by foot from Hotel Ambiance. The hotel has a view of the majestic Matterhorn and is only a three-minute walk from the public bus and ski bus stop. A five-minute stroll takes you to Zermatt’s lively main street.
The Matterhorn-Gotthard railway has stops in Brig and Visp. The route winds through the spectacular Matter Valley with a view of the highest mountains in Switzerland. After about an hour and a half you will reach the picturesque village of Zermatt.
This pass lets you to travel throughout all of Switzerland with just one ticket. It’s valid for trains, buses and ferries. It also offers you a 50% discount on numerous mountain railways.

The entire village of Zermatt is a car-free zone. If you are planning to travel by car, we recommend leaving your car in one of the several parking garages in Täsch. From there you can take a taxi or the Matterhorn-Gotthard railway to the center of the village.
Hotel Ambiance is about a 15-minute walk from the train station. This pleasant stroll will take you along Bahnhof Strasse and past the old part of the Zermatt village (see Google Maps). You also have the option at the station to catch one of the many taxis, which will drop you off directly at our door.
Alternatively, we can arrange an electric taxi for you. This service is available until 6:00 p.m. and may be subject to charge.
