Article contents of Experience the start of the 2022/2023 Downhill World Cup in Zermatt

On the last weekend in October from 28th to 30th of October 2022 and on the first weekend in November from 04th to 06th of November 2022, the opening of the speed discipline will take place in Zermatt for the first time. Be part of it!

Do you love Zermatt and the races of the world’s best skiers? Now the two can be combined: On the last weekend in October from 28th to 30th of October 2022 (men) and on the first weekend in November from 04th to 06th of November 2022 (women), the downhill season opener will take place in Zermatt.

The first cross-border Ski World Cup races in the history of the World Cup will be held on the “Gran Becca” course. We have already been allowed to visit it and have brought a few interesting facts for you:

Gran Becca – In Valtournenche, Italy, the Matterhorn is called “Gran Becca” in the local dialect, the big peak.
